About the Lillian
Volunteer Fire Department
Lillian Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects approximately 6,500 people living in an area of 37 square miles. We operate
out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. LVFD is a public department whose members are in a 100% volunteer
status. We have an ISO rating of 4.
We are located in southeastern Alabama on U.S. Hwy 98, one mile from
the Florida state line and about 15 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. We have 4 engines, one 75' Snorkel, one rescue
pumper, one brush truck, one chief's vehicle, a medical rehab vehicle, general use P/U truck, and one first-responder
van. We run an average of 400+ calls per year, offering Basic Life Support service as well as fire protection. We have 2 AEDs
(Automated External Defibrillator); this device can restart a person's heart during a sudden cardiac arrest.
We are currently in the beginning stages of building
Station 3 off of Highway 93. We have purchased and are clearing a three acre lot which will be the site of Station 3. We'd
like to thank the late William Campbell for working with us to design our new
station. His plans are invaluable to our effort to make Station 3 a reality. This new station will finally allow us to house
all our equipment inside, and have a training room large enough to seat all our members.
